Early Childhood matters, and a lot.
What we know about Early Childhood has changed. Contrary to what was previously thought, scientific evidence now shows that the first six years of life are the most important in a person's development. What happens, or fails to happen, during this window of opportunity has lifelong consequences.
Science has also expanded our perspective on what is needed at this stage. We know that ensuring health and nutrition remains essential. Today, we also know that environments, relationships, the quality of care, stimulation, and exposure to adverse situations matter as well. It is about guaranteeing a broad set of conditions that must be comprehensively present from the start, so that every child has a real opportunity to reach their potential.

Our Commitment
In Mexico and Latin America, Early Childhood ecosystems face key challenges. Prominent among them are scientific evidence that is not always adapted to the regional context or translated for decision-making, gaps between knowledge and action, under-resourced stakeholders, and isolated efforts.
To strengthen the ecosystem, we conduct scientific research within our context, contribute to the training of key actors who care for young children—including leaders involved in policy and program design—disseminate science, and build connections that align actions and scale solutions.
